Outside of The House

This footage shows the outside of the house I will use for my film. I am using this house as it is my own house So I have ease of access to it and i can use it when ever i need too.
This tet footage was filmed on my phone which has advantages and disadvantages. An advantage of my phone is the quality of the camera. It gives a clear picture when it is still so it would be good for over shoulder shots and establishing shots.
Some disadvantages are the sound quality as the microphones aren't the best quality all that can be really heard is me breathing whilst holding the camera. For the actuall Film I will use the profesional Sony camera's we have at collage.

I like this shot that I have captured as it is good for establishing the location of where my film will take place as it helps establish the location of the house. You can also see all of the doors and windows so it will make it believable that he saw the open door by chance. The Car will not be there for filming

THESE TWO PLOTS INTERT LINK AND CROSS OVER

Past Plot Line:

Character 1 is walking down the road towards his house when he notices the front door is open. The character walks round to the back of the house to check the garden before walking back towards the front door and pushing the door open. He walks in and checks the down stairs area and sees nothing out of the ordinary ecept for a few odds and sods missing such as keys and change that was left on the side in the kitchen.

There is a loud bang/crash from upstairs so he hesitently walks up the stairs towards the noise grabing a weapon. He walks into the main bedroom where he is confronted by Chracter 2 (robber). He then delivers them an ultimatum which they ignore and a fight ensues. Character 1 beats 2 before picking draging them back down the stairs and where he is confronted by a police man (who is not seen) he then drops the person he is dragging before he is led away by the officer.

Present Plot Line:

Character 1 is sat in a chair in what appears to be an interigation room. Interogater is not seen as they are the camera (First Person View) they are explaining that Past Plot Line to the interogator what occoured in the house

Both story lines cross over as the past plot line is shown to the audience as Character 1 explains the events whilst the interogator interjects when he thinks something is missing from the story

Plot Order

1. Person sat in interogation Room, Begins to tell Story

2. Character 1 is walking down the road towards his house when he notices the front door is open.

3. Pushes the Front Door Open. Interogator Interjects

4. Corrects himself. Walks round to the back of the house to check the garden before walking back towards the front door and pushing the door open.

5.  Walks in and checks the down stairs area and sees nothing out of the ordinary except for a few odds and sods missing

6. There is a loud bang/crash from upstairs so he hesitently walks up the stairs towards the noise He walks into the main bedroom where he is confronted by Chracter 2 (robber).

7. Interogator Interject, Telling him to 'Back Up' as he corrects him saying he picks up the weapon

8. He then delivers them an ultimatum which is ignore and a fight ensues. DIALOGUE CROSSES OVER FROM NARATION

9. Character 1 beats 2 & 3 before picking draging them back down the stairs and where he is confronted by a police man e then drops the person he is dragging before he is led away by the officer.

10. Back in interogation Room, Verdict is given as to whether he will be prosecuted

Plot Changes
Character 1 is no longer sat in an interogation room but actually out with a friend having a drink
The audience does not know who's house it is
Character 1 leaves unconcious Character 2 on a park bench
The audience does not know who's house it is

Great start with the ideas Oliver. Please consult the list below for help with your research and planning.

1. Analyse 2 short films that have influenced you in some way - consider how they have used casting, cinematography, location, sound etc. in a way that you might want to model in your own production. Consider using Over and Operator as both have interesting narrative structures at work. Also I would analyse King Arthur Legend of the Sword as your inspiration for the parallel narratives.

2. Finalise the plot. Firstly finalise the action and then think about where you want your narrator to interject, and subsequently the order the story will be revealed in.

3. Once you have finalised the plot you can continue with your storyboard. You should have a clearer idea of your plot and of the different components you need to shoot at this point.

4. Continue work on character maps, location shots, script etc.
